Volvo Cars was founded in 1927. Today, it is one of the most well-known and respected car brands in the world with sales to customers in more than 100 countries.

This purpose is reflected in Volvo Cars' ambition to become a fully electric car maker by 2030 and in its commitment to an ongoing reduction of its carbon footprint, with the ambition to be a climate-neutral company by 2040.
As of December 2023, Volvo Cars employed approximately 43,400 full-time employees. Volvo Cars' head office, product development, marketing and administration functions are mainly located in Gothenburg, Sweden. Volvo Cars' production plants are located in Gothenburg, Ghent (Belgium), South Carolina (US), Chengdu, Daqing and Taizhou (China). The company also has R&D and design centres in Gothenburg and Shanghai (China).

For the full year 2023, Volvo Car Group recorded a record-breaking core operating profit of SEK 25.6 billion. Revenue in 2023 amounted to an all-time high of SEK 399.3 billion, while global sales reached a record 708,716 cars.

At Volvo Cars, our company's purpose is to give people the freedom to move in a safe, sustainable, and personal way.
Using our company purpose as our backbone, we are looking for ways to connect meaningfully with Australians and increase Volvo's relevance. This could be by tapping into a social issue or a new innovative partnership that helps showcase Volvo's values in an unexpected way.
THE REWARDS
The 4 finalist teams, whose marketing communications campaign submissions score the highest marks from the judging panel, have the opportunity to make a final face-to-face (or virtual) presentation to the Client, the judging panel of top marketing communications industry professionals and the IAA Australia Board. These presentations will be the final step to select the winning team who will be announced as the IAA BIG IDEA 2024 ‘National Champion Team’.
The WINNING TEAM will receive:
IAA BIG IDEA National Champion trophy
IAA BIG IDEA National Champion certificate for each winning team member
IAA Young Professionals Chapter complimentary membership for 18 months for each student member of the winning team
Mumbrella complimentary tickets to a future Mumbrella event
ALL TEAM PARTICIPANTS, students and faculty advisors, will receive:
Special individual IAA BIG IDEA certificates acknowledging their participation and efforts in preparing their marketing communications campaign submissions.
